OMG another pumpkin spice recipe! Yes it is another pumpkin spice recipe, but hear me out. This is my mom’s famous (well famous to me) Pumpkin Spice Blend. It is the blend I use for all of my fall recipes, and I love it. I love the mix of cinnamon with nutmeg, ginger, all spice and cloves. Those 5 spices together combine to create a delicious and in my opinion pumpkin spice blend. Also I was kind of sick of writing out those 5 spices. You are either going to use my blend or store bought. If you buy store bought, I 100% support that! Everything does not have to be homemade!! Seriously. I love having different spice blends on hand, and I enjoy mixing them myself. That is just me. So feel free to substitute store bought pumpkin spice into any of my recipes calling for pumpkin spice. But if you want my tasty and a little bit spicy pumpkin spice, make my recipe!
Guys. I felt a scratchy throat coming on this weekend, and it sucked. Getting sick is the worst. Mainly because I almost never get sick. So if I do get sick, I act like a big baby! I lathered up with essential oils, making my significant other cringe. I might have been a little smelly but essential oils plus a little delicious Chicken Zoodle Soup last night seems to have kept the cold at bay! Phew. I really, really didn’t want to get sick because this weekend in a BIG cooking weekend. I have a ton of tasty recipes in store for you, and I can’t wait to get into the kitchen. I hear over and over again. More slow cooker recipes! I love slow cooker recipes too because they require so little prep and cleanup. What’s not to love?

Thanks for sharing your mom’s recipe Vanessa. I always thought the abbreviation for tablespoon was tbsp. tbls is new to me. BTW …. I love that vintage-looking set of measuring spoons. So pretty!

Thanks Arlene. I think it can be Tbsp or Tbls. I use the later to further differentiate it from tsp!

Is the second ingredient supposed to be nutmeg or how much nutmeg is needed? Thanks for the recipe. Can’t wait to make a batch.

Oops! It is 4 tsp nutmeg! I fixed it now!
