Guys. The heat. So I knew it was going to be hot moving to Arizona, and I knew I was moving at one of the worst times of year. But you don’t understand 118 degree weather until you have walked in 118 degree weather. It is pretty much like opening your oven and then just standing in front of it. I have been spending most of my time inside with my AC blowing and attempting to drink as much water as possible. I started to get tired of drinking plain water pretty fast. Normally I love water but you have to drink so much to stay hydrated here. I came up with this Sparkling Lemon Iced Green Tea after having a similar drink at Starbucks. I love how the lemon sparking water gives this green tea a fun fizz! Fresh mint and lemon gives this Sparkling Lemon Iced Green Tea a truly refreshing flavor that I will be enjoying all summer long.
I spent this last weekend in the suburbs of Chicago for a wedding. It was great to take a break from the heat and enjoy summer. I’ve only been living in Arizona for a couple weeks but you easily forget how green summer is when you are surrounded by shades of red and brown dirt all day. When I was in college, I thought I would move to Chicago after graduation to pursue a career in public relations. So much has changed from that time, but one thing remains the same. I could never survive a Chicago winter. You might have to deal with me complaining about the heat as I suffer through my first Arizona summer, but you will never hear me complain about the lack of snow. I am just a warm weather gal at the core!
