It’s down to the wire. I leave for Europe in two days! I can’t believe it is finally here. I’ve been planning this trip for almost a year. I had almost all my outfits picked out when I checked the weather in Europe for probably the 50th time. Unfortunately it wasn’t good news. London, Paris and Germany are going to be chillier than I anticipated. Now I’m in the process of repacking and including a few cold weather pieces. I never would have imagined 40 degree weather in May. There is even a chance of snow in Switzerland in the next week. What?! Oh well. A little chill at night isn’t going to put a damper on my excitement!
You might be thinking, hey this isn’t food! And you would be right. I actually make lots of my own skincare and beauty products. I’m not sure what has kept me from sharing. Maybe I will share more in the future. Since I am missing Mother’s Day, I wanted to make my mom and sisters a nice gift before I left.
This rose sugar scrub is so easy and smells delicious. I made two varieties. The lavender is very moisturizing paired with the frankincense. The lemon will help slough away dead winter skin. I used pink rose petals for the lavender scrub and yellow for the lemon scrub, but you can use whatever color of roses you have on hand! This is a fantastic way to not let roses go to waste!
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup organic cane sugar
- 12 rose petals
- ?1/4 cup apricot kernel oil
- 5 drops lavender essential oil*
- 5 drops frankincense essential oil*
- 1/2 tsp vitamin e oil
- 3/4 cup organic cane sugar
- 12 rose petals
- 1/4 cup apricot kernel oil
- 5 drops lavender essential oil*
- 5 drops lemon essential oil*
