So I am going to say it… it is freezing out! Freezing. It was 70 degrees in Oklahoma last week. Yesterday I woke up and my weather app read “feels like 10 degrees.” I am not okay with this. I love fall. It was one of the things I absolutely missed when I lived in California. Well we just hopped, skipped and jumped right over fall to winter! Some of the leaves changed but not many. I love when the leaves change color. Watching them turn from vibrant green to fiery shades of red, yellow and orange makes me so happy. Who knows what will happen this year? Will the green leaves just fall to the ground out of protest from the drastic weather change? I hope not. I am crossing my fingers the weather returns to at least the 50s for another month. I might be living in a dream world but as a California girl at heart I can wish!
Are you tired of crockpot recipes?! I hope not because winter is just beginning and I love cooking in my crockpot. It is so easy with very little clean up which is a huge plus for me! This bourbon clove applesauce obviously contains bourbon which is a big no-no if you are strict paleo, but you can easily sub apple cider. The spices in the cider will compliment the cloves already in the bourbon clove applesauce. This bourbon clove applesauce is great by itself or serve along side pork chops or pork tenderloin.
